- Wasted space
- A trap
- No story
- 'Think/Delay' errors
Supply Station 2 is a mixed level, with highs and lows that left me feeling like much more was possible here. The opening courtyard area is well constructed, with nice architecture and texture use that is fresh and clean, with a unique look and it's own personality. As you make your way into the station Strogg placement is well done, and sets the stage for an expected high challenge experience. However, this soon vanishes and the rest of the map seems somehow empty and incomplete. The architecture is inspired and, particularly in the ceilings, is very nice to admire. Often the lighting is used to create some great looking stark shadow contrasts like those generated in Classic Quake. Yet, as I wandered around this large map, I felt as if there was a lot of wasted space. With extra care given to layout, gameplay flow, and item/Strogg placement, this map could have been bursting with action and quality gameplay. Complaints include: a few 'think/delay' errors, and I was able to jump into the train and got trapped within, forcing a noclip or restart. Overall, it's a good looking map, but needs some work to give it some life. A lot of potential, but it doesn't deliver the fun.
